The Company was established in August 2005 and is based in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. The main activity of the company is the production of seaweed meal from Ascophyllum Nodosum. The resulting product is then sold on to be used as either animal feed or for the production of alginates.

At present the company employs 6 full time staff in the factory and there is about 25 local seaweed cutters who are self-employed and supply the raw material. The company has an annual turnover of approximately 400,000 euros and is the only seaweed meal factory of its kind in Scotland. As a producer of the raw material used for alginate extraction we will provide raw materials required to carry out the project. Our participation in this project fits well with our planned future activities and will allow us to enter the health and wellness market currently a capacity we do not have in the company.
